Notes

• This shrinks JPEG photos embedded in the PDF — text and vector graphics are never touched or rasterized, so they stay crisp and selectable.
• Works best on phone-scanned documents and photo-heavy PDFs. Documents with no embedded photos, or images already efficiently compressed, may see little or no reduction — you'll get a clear summary either way.
• Some images are deliberately left untouched: CMYK photos, images with transparency, and older fax-style scanned formats. Recompressing those safely needs decoders this tool doesn't have, so they're skipped rather than risked.
• Password-protected PDFs can't be opened — you'll get a clear message rather than a silent failure. Remove the password first, then compress.
